Day 1: DEPART USA TO VENICE

Depart New Orleans International Airport on an overnight flight to Venice. Dinner and breakfast will be served on the plane. Quotes for addon flights from different airports, as well as optional Premium Economy and Business Class upgrades, are available upon request and will be provided starting 120 days before departure. Group air restrictions (for ten passengers traveling together) do not permit specific seating requests on flights. We recommend purchasing your own airline tickets and the land-only package with us if seat confirmation is an important part of your trip. Day 2: WELCOME TO ITALY

Location : Padua, Province of Padua, Italy

Upon arrival in Venice, we are greeted by our tour manager and escorted to the motorcoach that takes us to Padua. We arrive in Padua mid-afternoon and settle into our hotel before walking over to the Shrine of St. Anthony for a tour of the Basilica and to celebrate Mass. We visit the magnificent Scrovengi Chapel, dedicated to St. Mary of the Charity. Enjoy dinner at the hotel and a good night’s rest. Dinner and overnight in Padua. (D)

Day 3: PADUA – VENICE

Location : Venice, Metropolitan City of Venice, Italy

After breakfast, which is included each morning, we are transferred to Venice, the city of mystery and fancy. We enjoy a walking tour of Venice, including the Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark’s Square and Basilica, and the Doge’s Palace. Visit St. Zulian Church, where we celebrate Mass. Marvel at the play of light on the city’s canals and the feeling of romance that permeates the air. In the afternoon, we visit the Murano Glass blowing demonstration. Overnight in Pauda. (B.D)

Day 4: BOLOGNA – FLORENCE

Location : Bologna, Metropolitan City of Bologna, Italy

In the morning, we visit the Shrine of St. Dominic in Bologna, where we celebrate Mass and view the relics of the beloved Saint, founder of the Dominican Order. We drive to Florence and settle into our hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Florence on our own. Dinner is on our own. Overnight in Florence. (B)

Day 5: FLORENCE

Location : Florence, Metropolitan City of Florence, Italy

Our 90-minute walking tour takes us to see the Duomo and the Baptistery next door (from the outside), the Church of the Holy Cross, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, and other notable city highlights. Visit the Church of St. Ambrogio, one of the most ancient churches in Florence, where Mass will be celebrated. We stop at Mercato Centrale, a must-visit spot in the city, where we can enjoy tasting delicious local food. However, be sure to bring some cash, as not all vendors accept credit cards. The afternoon is spent visiting Santa Maria Novella and Santa Maraie del Fiore, followed by a visit to the Academia to see the beautiful statue of David by Michelangelo. Dinner and overnight in Florence. (B.D)

Day 6: SIENA – ASSISI

Location : Siena, Province of Siena, Italy

In the morning, we celebrate Mass in Siena and visit San Domenico Church to see the relics of St. Catherine. Following Mass, enjoy fascinating views over the city before arriving at a secret underground location. Here, we savor a wine tasting in a medieval cave dating back to 600 BC, featuring a selection of the best wines from the area, including Super Tuscans, Brunello di Montalcino, and Chianti Classico wines. Visiting the town of Siena requires many steps. We have the option to explore this city, renowned for its central square horse races, or, if the group prefers, we can continue to Assisi after lunch. Upon arrival in Assisi, we visit the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli before checking into our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. (B. Wine tasting. D)

Day 7: ASSISI

Location : Assisi, Province of Perugia, Italy

This morning, we visit the Basilica of St. Francis, featuring the upper Basilica, which showcases Giotto’s frescoes that depict the life of St. Francis. We then proceed to the lower Basilica and the Tomb of St. Francis. Mass will be celebrated at one of the chapels in the Basilica. Proceed to the Basilica of St. Clare and the Chapel of San Damiano, where St. Francis received his call to rebuild the Church and where St. Clare lived and died. Visit St. Carlo Acutis, the first millennial to be beatified in the Catholic Church, dressed in jeans and tennis shoes through a viewing glass on his tomb. Overnight in Assisi. (B.D)

Day 8: ORVIETO – ROME

Location : Orvieto, Province of Terni, Italy

We stop at the hilltop town of Orvieto to celebrate Mass and visit the Cathedral, which houses the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena*. After visiting the city, we enjoy exploring a beautiful local winery, have a wine tasting, and a delicious lunch in the Italian countryside. In the afternoon, arrive in Rome and settle into our hotel. Dinner is at the hotel. Overnight in Rome. (B. Special lunch and wine tasting. D) *The Miracle of Bolsena will not be viewable as it is only on display between Easter and Pentecost Sunday.

Day 9: PAPAL AUDIENCE

Location : Rome, Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Italy

We depart early for St. Peter’s Square this morning to attend the Papal Audience, where the Holy Father blesses us. In the afternoon, we have a walking tour of Rome’s historic center. Enjoy a walk through Piazza Navona to view the magnificent Four Rivers fountain by Bernini, and then walk to the Pantheon. On this route, we also visit Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, the only true Gothic church in Rome, Gesù Church, and the Trevi Fountain. The rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner is at leisure. Overnight in Rome. (B)

Day 10: CHRISTIAN ROME AND ANCIENT ROME

Location : Rome, Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Italy

We visit St. Paul Outside the Walls, where we celebrate Mass, and the nearby Tre Fontane to see where the saint was beheaded. Our visit continues with a visit to the Basilica of St. Mary Major, St. John Lateran, and the Holy Stairs. We take a break from the busy pace of Rome, driving to Castel Gandolfo, a lovely little town on the lake and the location of the Papal Summer Residence. We have a beautiful lunch in a restaurant with a magnificent view of the lake and a vaulted wine cellar. We have time to enjoy the town before we return to Rome. Dinner is at leisure. Day 11: VATICAN TREASURES

Location : Rome, Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, Italy

We start the day celebrating Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica. Our tour includes St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museum, as well as the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel (TBC). In the afternoon, we explore the Scavi Tunnels (TBC) underneath St. Peter’s Basilica. Our farewell dinner is at the Restaurante Abruzzi. Overnight in Rome. (B. Special dinner)
