Day 1: Depart the USA

This evening, we depart on an overnight flight to Tel Aviv (Chicago departure). Bus transportation is included from South Bend and Fort Wayne. Dinner and breakfast are served on the flight. Day 2: Arrival in Tel Aviv

Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, we are greeted by our English-speaking, Christian tour manager and assisted to our motor coach. Then we proceed to our hotel near the Sea of Galilee, check in, unpack, and meet for drinks and dinner in the hotel. Overnight in Tiberias. (D.)

Day 3: Nazareth - Cana

Location : Nazareth, Israel

This morning, we drive to Nazareth to explore the Basilica of the Annunciation and St. Joseph Church. We celebrate Mass at the Basilica. Then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Next, we drive to Mt. Precipice for a remarkable view of the Jezreel Valley. At Cana of Galilee, you may choose to renew your wedding vows. Our stops today also include a visit to the Valley of the Doves. Day 4: Magdala - Mt. of Beatitudes - Caesarea Philippi

Location : Magdala, Israel

We start the day with a visit to Magdala. At Mt. of Beatitudes, we celebrate Mass and have time for prayer and reflection. Continue to Caesarea Philippi National Park, the setting for Jesus’ famous statement to Peter, “On this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” (Matthew 16:18) We see Banias, the source of the River Jordan and enjoy lunch in a Druze village. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B.L.D.)

Day 5: Sea of Galilee Ministry

Location : Sea of Galilee, Israel

After breakfast, we enjoy a boat ride on the serene waters of the Sea of Galilee and see a boat from the time of Jesus. We proceed to Tabgha to visit the Church of the Primacy of Peter and the Church of the Multiplication of Fish and Loaves. After lunch of St. Peter’s Fish at the Pilgerhaus restaurant, we explore Capernaum and see Peter’s House, where we celebrate Mass. Overnight in Tiberias. (B.L. Special dinner)

Day 6 : Mt. Tabor - Winery Visit - Ein Karem - Bethlehem

Location : Mount Tabor

After breakfast this morning, we check out of our hotel and begin our journey toward Bethlehem. We visit Mt. Tabor to see the Church of the Transfiguration and celebrate Mass. We visit a local winery and enjoy time to do some last-minute shopping before driving toward Ein Karem to visit the birthplace of St John the Baptist. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem. (B.L.D.)

Day 7: Bethlehem

Location : Bethlehem

This morning, we are in Bethlehem, where we celebrate Mass. We visit the Church of the Nativity, Shepherds’ Field and the Milk Grotto. After lunch at a local restaurant, we have time for shopping in Bethlehem. Tonight we are invited into the homes of local Christians to break bread at their tables during a “Sharing the Bread” meal. Day 8: Mt. of Olives - Mt. Zion

Location : Mount of Olives, Jerusalem

After breakfast, we visit the Mt. of Olives. See the Ascension Chapel and Pater Noster and enjoy a magnificent view of Jerusalem before we walk down the Palm Sunday Road. We stop to see Dominus Flevit along the way, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. Then continue to Gethsemane and the Church of the Agony, where we celebrate Mass. Lunch is on your own today. In the afternoon we explore Mt. Zion, including St. Peter in Gallicantu, Dormition Abbey, and the Upper Room. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B.D.)

Day 9: Jericho - Baptismal Site - Dead Sea

Location : The Dead Sea

After breakfast, we drive through the Judean Hills to visit the Baptismal Site on the River Jordan. Then continue to Jericho, the oldest inhabited city in the world, where we celebrate Mass and see the famous Sycamore Tree of Zacchaeus, Tel Jericho, and Mt. of Temptation in the near distance. After lunch at a local restaurant, we proceed to the Dead Sea to take a dip before returning to our hotel (be sure to bring your bathing suits). Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. (B.L.D.)

Day 10: Jerusalem

Location : Jerusalem, Israel

We wake up very early this morning to walk the peaceful streets of the Holy City of Jerusalem, praying the Stations of the Cross along the Way of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, where we celebrate Holy Mass. After Mass, we return to our hotel for breakfast and to rest. Then visit the Old Town of Jerusalem, including St. Anne’s Church, the Pool of Bethesda, Ecce Homo, Judgment Hall, and the Chapel of Flagellation. Enjoy lunch in the Old City. In the afternoon we visit the Israeli Museum where we see the model city depicting Jerusalem at the time of King David and also the Dead Sea Scrolls. Dinner is at a local restaurant with views of the Holy City. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B. Special dinner)
