Day 2: Mexico City - OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE and THE PYRAMIDS OF THE SUN AND THE MOON

Location : Mexico City, Mexico

This morning, we enjoy breakfast at the hotel, followed by a visit to the Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe. Our first stop of the day is the Church of Santiago Tlatelolco, where St. Juan Diego was baptized. Upon arrival at the Shrine, we visit the beautiful basilica, have time to kneel in front of the Tilma, where Our Lady’s image was miraculously imprinted, we visit the El Pocito (Chapel of the Little Well) and the site of the original apparition. We celebrate Mass and have time to explore the Gardens on our own. In the afternoon, we depart for San Juan Teotihuacan, where we have lunch, followed by a guided tour of the Archaeological site of the Pyramid of the Sun and the Moon. Enjoy shopping and tequila tasting before returning to our hotel. Dinner is at leisure tonight to explore the local food scene in the Zona Rosa. Overnight Mexico City. (B.L.)

Day 3: OCOTLAN – SAN MIGUEL

Location : Ocotlán, Jalisco, Mexico

After breakfast, we enjoy a ride through the mountains as we travel to Tlaxcala and the Shrine of San Miguel Del Milagro. Upon arrival, our priest will celebrate Mass at the site where St. Michael the Archangel appeared to Diego Lazaro in 1631, directing him to the Grotto and to a well of miraculous curative waters. This is known as the Lourdes of Mexico because of its miraculous statue and spring water. Continue to Ocotlan to visit the beautiful church and see the miraculous image of Our Lady burned into a tree trunk after she appeared to Juan Diego Bernardino in 1541. Perfectly preserved, the image in a tree resides in the Basilica of Our Lady of Ocotlan. Also, we will see the Monastery of San Francisco, one of the first Catholic buildings in Mexico. Day 4: PUEBLA

Location : Puebla, Mexico

After a buffet breakfast, we depart for Puebla - City of the Angels and Churches, the fourth largest city in México and a great example of Spanish colonial architecture. The Puebla region is famous for its beautiful Churches and its hand painted “Talavera” tiles. We visit the unforgettable Chapel of the Rosary where we celebrate Mass and Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament, (to be confirmed). Then we enjoy visits to the Ca-thedral, Santo Domingo Church and the Santa Monica religious museum, and Church of St. Francis to see the incorrupt body of St. Sebastian. In the afternoon there is time to shop in the open-air market and bargain for souvenirs and silver. Dinner and over-night in Mexico City. (B. Dinner at the hotel)

Day 5: CHURCH OF THE HOLY FAMILY – CITY CENTER

Location : Mexico City, CDMX, Mexico

Our day starts with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a visit to the Church of Sagrada Familia (the Holy Family) for Mass and to see the tomb of Fr. Miguel Agustin Pro, the Jesuit Martyr. We will see the small museum dedicated to Blessed Miguel Pro before driving to the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral and the churches of the central square of Mexico City. We will enjoy time for shopping and exploring the markets with the many artisan shops. In the evening we enjoy a farewell dinner in a local restaurant and see Mariachi Bands playing in Garibaldi Square. Overnight in Mexico City. (B, Special dinner)
