Day 1: DEPART USA

Depart New York/JFK or Norfolk on an overnight flight to Paris. Dinner and breakfast will be served on the flight. Enjoy your flight as you look forward to your incredible pilgrimage journey. Quotes for add-on flights and optional Premium Economy and Business Class upgrades are available upon request and will be provided starting 120 days before departure. Group air restrictions (for ten or more passengers traveling together) do not permit specific seating requests on flights. We recommend purchasing your own airline tickets and land-only packages with us if seat confirmation is important to your trip. Day 2: PARIS – MONET’S GARDENS AT GIVERNY – LISIEUX

Location : Giverny, France

We arrive in Paris, France, where we are greeted by our English-speaking tour manager who will be with us for the entire trip. We board our motorcoach for a bus ride to Lisieux. We stop in Giverny and visit Claude Monet’s gardens. Monet lived in his home in Giverny for 43 years. In the garden surrounding the house, Monet created a colorful study of volume and perspectives with his flower beds. The garden became his muse as he forged his name into history as the founder of French Impressionism. Mass will be celebrated. We continue on to Lisieux, where we check into our hotel, have dinner, and a well-deserved night of rest. Overnight in Lisieux. (D)

Day 3: LISIEUX

Location : Lisieux, France

The next two days in Lisieux we will visit important sites related to St. Therese. We will tour the home of the Little Flower, Les Buisonnets and the Carmel Convent, the humble dwelling of the Saint. Mass will be celebrated. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Lisieux. (B.D)

Day 4: LISIEUX

Location : Lisieux, France

This morning we see the magnificent Basilica of St. Therese and celebrate Mass in the Crypt. The rest of the day we have time for prayer, personal devotion and maybe walking the Way of the Cross on the grounds of the Basilica. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Lisieux. (B.D)

Day 5: ST. JOAN OF ARC IN ROUEN – PARIS

Location : Rouen, France

After breakfast, we drive to Paris, where we retrace the footsteps of St. Joan of Arc. Rouen offers a restored medieval quarter and a marvelous Gothic cathedral, Notre-Dame, often painted by Claude Monet. Throughout its turbulent history, the city was destroyed several times. During the Middle Ages, it was devastated by fire and the plague. The English occupied it during the Hundred Years’ War when the French heroine Joan of Arc (Jeanne d’Arc) was tried for heresy and burned at the stake in the central square in 1431. During WWII, Allied bombing raids laid waste to large parts of the city, especially the area south of the cathedral, but over the last six decades, the city has been meticulously rebuilt. We visit the Cathedral and the interactive exhibit (TBC), the Trail of Joan of Arc in the Rectory next door. Across the lovely town is the Church of St. Joan of Arc, where we celebrate Mass. Our lunch is at La Couronne, the restaurant where Julia Child had such an amazing meal that she decided to become a chef. After lunch, we continue to Paris and settle into our hotel. Dinner is at leisure tonight with the opportunity to explore Parisian cafe food. Overnight in Paris. (B. Special lunch)

Day 6: PARIS

Location : Paris, France

After breakfast, we have a panoramic city tour from our motorcoach passing all the magnificent monuments and stopping at the Eiffel Tower for pictures. After the tour, we visit Sainte-Chapelle to see its magnificent stained glass windows. We also visit the newly rebuilt Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris’ most beloved church. Mass will be celebrated. We board our motorcoach and travel on to the Montmartre section of Paris to explore the city’s Bohemian quarter and the magnificent Sacré-Cœur (Sacred Heart Basilica). Tonight we gather and are transferred to the boat to take the Seine River dinner cruise. We sail past the illuminated monuments and marvel at the beauty of Paris from the water. Overnight in Paris. Day 7: PARIS

Location : Paris, France

This morning, we visit the Miraculous Medal Shrine to celebrate Mass. We see the incorrupt remains of St. Catherine and the heart of St. Vincent de Paul in the Chapel of the Daughters of Charity following a visit to the nearby Church of St. Vincent de Paul. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. We may visit the Louvre or other museums in the area, enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee or some shopping. Dinner is at leisure. Overnight in Paris. (B)

Day 8: LOURDES

Location : Lourdes, France

Early this morning, we join many commuters in France and board the TGV train to Lourdes. Upon arrival in Lourdes, we are transferred to our hotel. Mass will be celebrated. Following dinner, we join pilgrims from all over the world for the Candlelight Procession. Overnight in Lourdes. (B.D)

Day 9: LOURDES

Location : Lourdes, France

We celebrate Mass at the Grotto, where Our Lady appeared to Bernadette. Today in Lourdes we will have the opportunity to experience the water gesture as we visit the baths and drink water from the miraculous spring that has healed so many. Our group will visit Boly Mill, the birthplace of St. Bernadette, and the “Cachot,” an abandoned prison where Bernadette’s impoverished family lived. We may also pray the Stations of the Cross, and attend the Blessing of the Sick in the afternoon. Tonight we may join the Candlelight procession on our last night in Lourdes. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes. (B.D)
