Day 2: ARRIVE IN DUBROVNIK

Location : Dubrovnik, Croatia

Upon arrival in Dubrovnik, we are met by our English-speaking tour manager and transferred to our hotel. We settle in before proceeding to the city to explore the Old Town, also known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic.” Mass will be celebrated. Enjoy dinner at a typical Dalmatian restaurant that serves local delicacies and wines. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (Special dinner)

Day 3: DUBROVNIK

Location : Dubrovnik, Croatia

Following breakfast, we return to the Old Town for a 90 minute walking tour, beginning with a visit to St. Blasius Church, where we celebrate Mass. Continue to the Gothic and Renaissance-style Rector’s Palace, home to the History Department of the Museum of Dubrovnik. Next, we stroll by the iconic Bell Tower Clock and Orlando’s Column. To the left of this column is the Sponza Palace. Our final stop on the tour is the Dominican and Franciscan Monasteries. Enjoy lunch on your own at one of the many small, family-owned restaurants along the narrow streets. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the walled city or enjoy the beach. Dinner is at leisure. Overnight in Dubrovnik. (B)

Day 4: FULL-DAY EXCURSION TO MONTENEGRO

Location : Montenegro

After breakfast, we depart for Montenegro, a small country boasting a dynamic landscape of extremely high peaks juxtaposed beside very deep canyons, caves, and bays. We begin our excursion by heading toward the mouth of the beautiful Bay of Kotor, the longest and deepest fjord in Southern Europe. Enjoy a boat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks, one of two islets off the coast of Perast. The Roman Catholic Church is the largest building on the artificial island made of rocks and old ships. The island was created by a local fisherman who found the Blessed Mother and Jesus icon on a rock here. Now it is a tradition to throw rocks at the island to increase its size. Upon return to the coast, we stop in Perast, a charming, old coastal town with just one main street, yet sixteen churches! We celebrate Mass. Then return to Dubrovnik for dinner and overnight. (B.D)

Day 5: DUBROVNIK – WINE TASTING – MEDJUGORJE

Location : Međugorje, Montenegro

This morning, we celebrate Mass near Dubrovnik and then drive along the coast, stopping at the inlet of Peljesac for a wine tasting. From here, we begin making our way toward the village of Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina. En route, we stop for lunch and to stretch our legs in Ston, a beautiful coastal town with large city walls known as the Great Wall of Europe. Then continue to our comfortable hotel in Medjugorje, where we settle in and enjoy an orientation tour. In the evening, we participate in a program consisting of the prayer of all three Mysteries of the Holy Rosary and the evening International Holy Mass. Afterward, we may participate in the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Blessing of the Sick. Tonight we have a unique experience at a local restaurant where we enjoy a cooking demonstration hosted by the local chef with Father Leo. Overnight in Medjugorje. (B. Special lunch and dinner)

Day 6: MEDJUGORJE – MOSTAR

Location : Međugorje, Montenegro

Our spiritual program in Medjugorje consists of a retreat by Fr. Leo, talks given by the Franciscans, daily Holy Mass, a visit to Podbrdo, also known as Apparition Hill, the site of the apparition of Our Lady, and a visit to the village Bijakovici from where all six visionaries come. We have a chance to meet with the visionaries if they are in Medjugorje. Later this afternoon we have an option to visit the city of Mostar with its historic bridge and old bazaar with cobblestone streets. Dinner is at leisure in Mostar. (B)

Day 7: MEDJUGORJE – TROGIR – ZADAR

Location : Trogir, Croatia

This morning, we depart Medjugorje driving to the small coastal town of Trogir where we have lunch and time to stretch our legs in the old city. En route, we stop at the Shrine of Little Lourdes to celebrate Mass. Then continue to Zadar for dinner at leisure and overnight. (B)

Day 8: ZADAR – KRKA NATIONAL PARK – ETNOLAND

Location : Zadar, Croatia

This morning, we drive to Krka National Park, where we view the beautiful waterfalls and enjoy a boat ride down the river to Visovac Monastery. From here, we continue to Etnoland, a family run historical and cultural site, where we experience authentic, interactive and entertaining storytelling, try the famous Drniš “pršut” (smoked ham) and enjoy our amazing family style “peka” lunch. Then return to Zadar for the afternoon at leisure. Farewell dinner in a local restaurant with wine. Overnight in Zadar. (B. Special lunch and dinner)
