Day 2: LISBON – SANTAREM – FATIMA

Location : Lisbon, Portugal

Upon arrival in Lisbon, we will meet our driver and English-speaking guide. Our pilgrimage starts with a panoramic city tour of Lisbon. We continue to drive to St. Stephen’s Church in Santarem to celebrate Mass and venerate the Miracle of the Eucharist. We continue to Fatima for dinner and overnight. (D)

Day 3: FATIMA

Location : Fátima, Portugal

After breakfast, a busy day awaits us. We meet in the lobby and we walk to the site of apparitions. We visit the Chapel of Apparitions and the Basilica complex, where we celebrate Mass. We visit the tombs of Blessed Jacinta and Blessed Francisco. We pray in the Adoration Chapel and we see the Miraculous Fountain. We pray the Stations of the Cross erected by the Americans and we visit the beautiful Shrine of the Crucifixion built on the highest point by Hungarian refugees. Dinner and overnight in Fatima. Day 4: FATIMA

Location : Fátima, Portugal

We drive to the site where the visionaries were baptized. We visit their homes in Aljustrel and see Valinhos, where the Angel appeared, and the Shrine where the Holy Virgin appeared to the children in August. Mass will be celebrated. Time for prayer, private devotions, and shopping for religious goods will be scheduled. Dinner and overnight in Fatima. (B.D)

Day 5: SALAMANCA

Location : Salamanca, Spain

After breakfast, we depart for Salamanca, one of Spain’s foremost cultural centers, a great university city, and a showcase of intricately sculpted Renaissance architecture. We walk through the Plaza Mayor, which is regarded as one of the most attractive squares in Spain, to see the house of shells and the majestic Cathedral where we celebrate Mass. We may have the opportunity to visit Iglesia de la Merced at Salamanca, a Mercedarian church. (TBC). Dinner and overnight in Salamanca (B.D)

Days 6: BURGOS – TUDELA – PAMPLONA

Location : Burgos, Spain

We board our motorcoach and travel to Burgos to see the Cathedral of Burgos, where we stop for lunch on our own. We continue to Tudela to see the Santa Maria Cathedral. Then we continue to Pamplona, where we will celebrate Mass.Dinner and overnight in Pamplona. (B. D)

Day 7 & 8: LOURDES

Location : Lourdes, France

After breakfast we board our motorcoach and head for Lourdes. We arrive in Lourdes, nestled in the Pyrenees mountains. We explore the birthplace of St. Bernadette, to whom Our Lady appeared in 1858, near the Grotto of Massabielle. During the next two days in Lourdes, we pray with fellow pilgrims from around the world. We celebrate Mass at the Grotto, watch a video telling the story of Lourdes, and walk in the footsteps of St. Bernadette. We visit Boly Mill, where she was born, and the “Cachot,” an abandoned prison where Bernadette’s impoverished family lived. We join pilgrims from around the world to pray for the sick and we drink water from the miraculous spring. We pray at the life-sized Stations of the Cross overlooking the Holy Grotto and we kneel in the chapel that was built on the very rock of the Grotto in obedience to the request of the “Immaculate Conception.” Evenings are free for the optional Blessed Sacrament Procession. Our role in the universal Church will have new meaning as we join the Candlelight Procession and Group Rosary. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes. (B.D.)

Day 9: Toulouse

Location : Toulouse, France

Following Mass in Lourdes, we depart for Toulouse, where Dominic of Osma founded the Dominican Order. We visit The Jacobin Church which was the heart of life and a teaching center in the 12th century, and now is the place where St. Thomas Aquinas is buried. Standing majestically in the city’s heart, the huge Gothic structure contains the tomb and the saint’s relics. We have a guided tour of the church. Tonight we have our last dinner together, with a choice of wine or beer. Overnight in Toulouse. (B. Farewell dinner).
