Four Corners Fiat Journey to Fatima, Garabandal, and Lourdes with Fr. Matthew Keller

Depart on an overnight from Albuquerque to Lisbon. Dinner and breakfast will be served on the flights. Optional premium economy and business class upgrades are available upon request.

Morning arrival in Lisbon. We meet our driver and guide and board our deluxe motor coach for a drive to St. Stephen’s Church in Santarem to celebrate Mass and venerate the Miracle of the Eucharist. Continue to Fatima for dinner and overnight. (D)

After breakfast, a busy day awaits us as we meet in the lobby and walk to the site of apparitions. We visit the Chapel of Apparitions and the Basilica complex, where we celebrate Mass. We visit the tombs of St. Jacinta and St. Francisco, pray in the Adoration Chapel, and see the Miraculous Fountain. We drive by the Church where the visionaries were baptized, visit their homes in Aljustrel, walk to Valinhos to see where the Angel appeared, and see the Shrine where the Holy Virgin appeared in August. We see the outdoor Stations of the Cross erected by the Americans and the beautiful Shrine of the Crucifixion built on the highest point by Hungarian refugees. Dinner and overnight stay in Fatima. We depart from Fatima early to drive to Porto, we stop to celebrate Mass and visit the local port-making facility. We taste the famous wine and have free time for lunch before continuing to Santiago de Compostela. Dinner and overnight in Santiago De Compostela. (B.D)

After breakfast at our hotel, we visit the Cathedral of St. James, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in all of Europe. As pilgrims, we have the opportunity to climb the stairs behind the high altar, to visit the crypt where the relics of St. James are preserved, touch the central pillar (Portico de La Gloria), view the ‘Botafumeiro’, and admire the wealth of medieval art inside the Cathedral, before visiting the Cloister Museum. We celebrate Mass at the Cathedral then depart for Garabandal. Little has changed in this rural town since June 18, 1961 when four children had an apparition of an Angel sent to prepare the children for a visit from the Virgin. From July 2, 1961, sporadically until November 13, 1965, the Blessed Virgin visited them, speaking, guiding, and confiding secrets of future events. The children reported a promised future miracle at the grove of pine trees on a bluff overlooking the village of Garabandal. During our stay you will have time for reflection, devotions and praying at the Stations of the Cross. You will meet with villagers who witnessed the apparitions and spend time with our host family who moved to Garabandal from the USA. Dinner and overnight stay in Garabandal. (B.D.)

After Mass, we depart for Lourdes. Nestled in the mountains stands picturesque Lourdes, the birthplace of St. Bernadette, to whom Our Lady appeared in 1858 near the Grotto of Massabielle. We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner before retiring to our rooms for a restful night’s sleep. Overnight in Lourdes. (B.D.)

Following breakfast, we attend the Mass at the Grotto, watch a video presentation telling the story of Lourdes, and walk in the footsteps of St. Bernadette. See Boly Mill where St. Bernadette was born, and the “Cachot,” an abandoned prison where Bernadette’s impoverished family lived. Join your prayers with those of pilgrims from around the world as you pray for the sick and drink water from the miraculous spring. Experience Christ’s love as you walk the life sized Stations of the Cross overlooking the Grotto. Kneel in the chapel built on the very rock of the Grotto, in obedience to the request of the “Immaculate Conception.” Evenings are free for optional Blessed Sacrament Procession before dinner. Your role in the universal church will have new meaning as you join the candlelight procession and group rosary. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes. (B. D.)

After Mass at one of the chapels, you have the entire day to explore Lourdes, return to the places we visited yesterday, and shop for religious gifts. Overnight in Lourdes. (B.D)

In the morning, transfer to Toulouse Airport for your return flight home. (B)
